Questions
What time do you open?
At 7 from Wednesday to Friday and 8 on weekends. We’re closed Monday and Tuesday, when we mill and feed the starters.
What time do you usually sell out?
Saturday’s bread by noon, and the pistachio croissants by 10 on weekends. On weekdays there’s usually bread until we close at 2.
Can I order a cake, and how much notice do you need?
Three days for a cake from the list, two weeks for a decorated one and a month for a wedding. The sizes and prices are under Cakes to order.
Do you have whole cakes ready today?
Two or three 6-inch cakes are in the case from Thursday to Sunday, $48 each. Call before 10 and we’ll hold one for you.
When do holiday orders open, and when is pickup?
Thanksgiving pies open October 1 and close November 21, for pickup the Wednesday before. The holiday bread boxes open the day after Thanksgiving.
Do you do gluten-free or vegan?
Not gluten-free: there’s flour on every surface here, so we won’t promise it. The country sourdough and the seeded rye are vegan.
Do you sell wholesale?
To the Ashford Food Co-op and two restaurants on Main Street. If you’d like bread for yours, ask with the form and Luis will call you.
